Al Mu’awwidhatain – A Cure =Al-Muawwidhatayn – الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْن – Verses of Refuge for Protection – Surah Falaq & Surah Naas

Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, or “The Two Protectors”, is a combination of the final two chapters of the Quran, Surah Al-Falaq (113) and Surah An-Nas (114). These chapters are considered to be incantations that appeal to God’s protection from evil and ailments.

Some say that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited these chapters in prayer and instructed others to do the same. According to some hadiths, the Prophet considered these two chapters to be the best for those who seek refuge from Allah. One hadith says that whoever reads Al-Mu’awwidhatayn will be like reading all the books that Allah has sent down.

Some say that the last three chapters of the Quran are the strongest protection against evil eye, magic, envy, and jinn. It is Sunnah to read them three times in the morning and evening, three times before going to sleep, once after every Salāh, and when one is ill.
